Job summary

AFL, a leading manufacturer of fiber optic cable and connectivity, seeks a Manufacturing Utility Operator in Duncan, SC. You will monitor production, schedule activities, and support line operators to meet AFL specifications while upholding safety and quality.

Responsibilities include assisting with changeovers, training new operators, troubleshooting process issues, and maintaining smooth workflow across lines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing safety standards.
• Experience with cable industry or similar manufacturing preferred.
• Proficient with Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assess daily production schedules and plan to ensure uninterrupted flow and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities of team members.
• Ensure WIP and tooling are ready for the next run.
• Provide training and troubleshooting to support the team.
• Cover for unplanned operator absences and assist with changeovers.
• Develop training documents and facilitate training; help troubleshoot issues.
• Troubleshoot disruptions to maintain product flow and address defects with upstream teams.
• Publish KPI metrics and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Lead 5S activities for the assigned area and monitor performance.
