Haumiller Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Test Technician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for final assembly, testing/debugging, field installation, and service of custom automation machinery. You will also participate in customer product testing, demonstrations, technician education, and final quality control inspection of machinery prior to shipment. The position requires the ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. It is based in our South Elgin, IL facility, with some work in our Belvidere, IL facility.

Haumiller Engineering is a 100% employee-owned company that designs and manufactures high-speed automation assembly and test equipment for the life science, personal care, and food and beverage industries.

What You Will Do:

• Perform electrical and mechanical checks, analyze part control, machine functions, and operations per specifications.
• Provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing for machinery upgrades and configurations, including documenting field corrections and issues.
• Test product samples supplied by customers to determine equipment compatibility and configuration.
• Conduct final quality and performance testing of machinery.
• Install, service, and handle warranty claims for machinery promptly through direct customer contact.
• Assist during machinery acceptance visits with customers.
• Work at our South Elgin, IL or Belvidere, IL locations.

What You Will Bring:

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of experience in machine building, testing/debugging, and the following skills:

• 3+ years as a service technician or lead machine builder for automated machinery.
• An Associate's Degree or technical certificate, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of electrical fundamentals (AC/DC).
• Ability to read detailed 3D drawings, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
• Basic skills with machine shop equipment (drill press, mill, grinder).
• PLC experience is a plus (reading ladder logic and basic editing).
• Experience with hand tools and measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
