Form Energy in Weirton, WV is hiring a Manager, Manufacturing Test Engineering to build a team that designs, deploys, and maintains manufacturing test equipment and data systems for our iron-air battery production.

The role collaborates with Product Development, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, MES, and Operations to deliver scalable test solutions and ensure reliable production. Relocation assistance is available and you will advance America's energy future on a large high-volume campus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in automated test systems in manufacturing, product development, or industrial environments.
• 5+ years building and managing a team of manufacturing test engineers.
• Experience with at least one programming language such as LabVIEW, Python, C#, C++, Go.
• Experience establishing test architectures, software frameworks, processes, and standards for scalable growth.
• Experience integrating instrumentation, data acquisition hardware, and automated test equipment.
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Familiarity with CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, UART, SPI, I2C, Protobuf, or similar.
• Experience with electrical test methodologies and high-voltage safety interlocks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team deploying manufacturing test equipment for assembly processes.
• Design scalable test software, GUIs, and operator workflows for cell, module, and pack levels.
• Develop, deploy, and validate production test equipment, fixtures, PLCs, and instrumentation architectures.
• Integrate test software with MES, databases, and factory automation platforms.
• Ensure safe test systems with interlocks and lockout/tagout for high-voltage environments.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to define test requirements and support expansions.
• Lead root-cause investigations during commissioning and production ramps.
• Create technical documentation and train operators.
