Job summary

KMC Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to develop and validate production test methods and equipment for building automation products. You will work with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure consistent testing and inspection in the manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes test development, fixture maintenance, and data-driven improvements to increase first-pass yield and minimize defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2 years of related experience.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, production testing, process validation, test fixture development, or NPI preferred.
• Experience with test fixtures and data collection.
• Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW, Python, C#, SQL, or PLCs is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute manufacturing test and validation plans for new and modified products, processes, equipment, fixtures, tooling, and test systems.
• Design and document manual, automated, and semi-automated production test procedures for various product types.
• Develop test requirements, acceptance criteria, and test cases from specs and quality standards.
• Verify product functionality, electrical performance, and communication requirements.
• Support production testing of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet, wireless, and other communication technologies.
• Maintain test fixtures, programming stations, automated test systems, and data-collection methods.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in design reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews, and NPI activities.
• Maintain manufacturing test procedures, validation reports, and ISO 9001 documentation.
• Analyze test data and process capability to identify improvements.
