Job summary

Abrasive Technology in Lewis Center, OH is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Technician to support development and improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and products. You will work hands-on on prototyping, testing, and implementation.

Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Production; read blueprints and specifications; train production staff; document processes. The role offers a dynamic, growth-oriented environment and exposure to world-class grinding wheel technology.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Associate degree preferred; related experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, Quality, and Operations.
  • Provide hands-on support for engineering projects focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, and process efficiency.
  • Assist with the design, build, testing, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering records.
  • Support training of production associates on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Assist with prototyping, mechanical assembly, testing, and validation activities.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to equipment, tooling, fixtures, and workflow.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Gather and analyze process data to support engineering decisions and improvement initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and other engineering activities as assigned.
