Job summary

Abrasive Technology Inc in Lewis Center, OH is seeking a Mechanical Engineer- Manufacturing to design fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing aids that support production. You will drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and equipment optimization by partnering with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years’ manufacturing engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience designing fixtures, tooling, production equipment, and engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methods.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support in a production environment to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Design, develop, test, and implement fixtures, tooling, and part-handling equipment.
• Maintain configuration control systems and documentation for fixtures and tooling.
• Develop preventive maintenance recommendations to maximize uptime.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to investigate nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Create and maintain work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Train production personnel on new processes and equipment.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Support automation, robotics, material handling, and equipment improvement projects.
• Research and implement new manufacturing technologies and solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with clear communication on status and risks.
