Job summary

Abrasive Technology, Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and products. You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Production to prototype, implement, and optimize solutions.

The ideal candidate enjoys understanding how things work, has hands-on problem-solving skills, and can translate engineering concepts into practical manufacturing improvements.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity reading and interpreting technical drawings and specs.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting in a manufacturing/technical setting.
  • Prototyping, testing, and implementing new processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, Quality, and Operations.
  • Provide hands-on support for projects focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, and process efficiency.
  • Assist with the design, build, testing, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering records.
  • Support training of production associates on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Assist with prototyping, mechanical assembly, testing, and validation activities.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to equipment, tooling, fixtures, and workflow.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Gather and analyze process data to support engineering decisions and improvement initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and other engineering activities as assigned.
