Lay Up Technician TR Job Description

Job Summary

Assists other team members with lay-up and fabrication of composite aircraft parts.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  1. Assist in lay-up and fabrication of composite aircraft parts, major components, and structures using prepreg composite fabrics and other materials.
  2. Learn the Kanban system for SF and SR.
  3. Observe and learn the proper use of WI, Solumina, and the completion of the layup portion of CSOs.
  4. Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  5. Complete Cirrus University training.
  6. Pay attention to detail. Ensure all work areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable. Apply the 6S principle (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety).
  7. Comply with all paperwork, such as work instructions, that govern job duties.
  8. Understand all process specifications and pertinent reference information.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines; report hazards or incidents.
  10. Wear proper protective equipment during job functions.
  11. May be assigned to different work areas as production needs require.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Department Supervisor, or Line Manager.

  • High School Diploma or GED, or 1-12 months of experience and training combined.
  • 1-3 months related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
