Northrop Grumman is offering a 10-week Fall Internship for Manufacturing Technician Interns at our Space sector facility in San Diego, CA, on 1st Shift (5:00 AM - 2:30 PM). The program feeds into a potential full-time opportunity based on performance and business needs.

The role includes hands-on work with composite materials, prep, lay-up and bonding of composites, and interaction with multiple departments. Applicants must be enrolled in a related program and able to work full time for 10 weeks.

Qualifications

• Be a student enrolled in a community college or technical trade school or working toward a manufacturing certification or related coursework.
• Be available to work full time for at least 10 weeks.
• Ability to work with hand tools requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Able to read, interpret and record measurements.
• Available to work 1st Shift (5:00AM - 2:30PM).
• US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Perform functions related to manufacturing operations, including handling and processing composite materials.
• Report status/progress and coordinate with other staff.
• Prepare tooling and manage release applications.
• Use calipers, rulers and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
• Help maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
• Follow written instructions.
