Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking Manufacturing Technician Interns for a 10 Week Fall Internship on 1st Shift at the Space sector facility in San Diego, CA. The role advances to potential full-time placement based on performance and budget.

Interns will perform manufacturing operations on composite materials, gain hands-on experience, and join the Manufacturing Technician Team for a defined period while exploring potential long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be a student enrolled in a community college or technical trade school, or working toward manufacturing certification.
• Available to work full time for at least 10 weeks.
• Ability to use hand tools with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Able to read, interpret and record measurements.
• Available to work 1st Shift (5:00AM - 2:30PM).
• US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Perform functions across manufacturing operations with fragile composite materials.
• Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products; pre-pregs layup and weaving.
• Report status/progress and interface with others.
• Tooling preparation and release application.
• Use calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
• Maintain shop appearance and cleanliness.
• Execute tasks according to written instructions.
