Position Summary

The Manufacturing Technician III, (Packaging Mechanic) reports to a Supervisor or Manager on the Manufacturing floor, supporting Packaging operations. Responsibilities include setup, changeover, repairs, and preventative maintenance for equipment used in production processes across various areas. The role requires troubleshooting mechanical and electronic issues, providing basic mechanical training, and supporting continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

1. Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain packaging equipment.
2. Act as a technical resource, supporting production technicians with equipment issues.
3. Perform preventative maintenance and monitor equipment conditions.
4. Execute technician tasks including start-up, operation, rework, cleaning, and line clearance.
5. Operate material handling equipment safely.
6. Monitor material quality and escalate concerns.
7. Complete batch records, GMP documentation, and CMMS entries.
8. Adhere to safety procedures and report discrepancies.
9. Support lean activities and process improvements.
10. Train team members on equipment and processes, conducting evaluations for training qualifications.
11. Review process documents and suggest process improvements.
12. Participate in equipment qualification and validation protocols.
13. Support other work areas as needed and maintain certifications.
14. Maintain strong mechanical and electronic knowledge, communication skills, and adaptability.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated production environment with equipment maintenance responsibilities.
• Proficiency in English for communication and instructions.
• Ability to handle equipment change parts, tooling, and materials.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or associate's degree preferred.
• Experience with automated equipment, hydraulics, electronics, and computerized maintenance systems like SAP.
• Knowledge of OEE, TPM, LEAN, or similar methodologies.
