Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Manufacturing Technician III to support reliability and performance of RPD battery manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and improve line equipment, including RSWs, LSWs, automation, and vision systems, collaborating with Engineering and Operations.

We value candidates with 3+ years of technical experience, experience with Omron robotics, PLCs, and vision interfaces, and a passion for reducing downtime and scrap in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience in manufacturing or related field.
  • Experience with automated equipment and troubleshooting hardware/software.
  • Familiarity with Omron robotics and Omron troubleshooting.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair line manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose failures, replace components, and perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and use standard tools for diagnostics.
  • Assist engineers with technical solutions for device performance.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, controls, automation, and process issues on equipment such as Resistance Spot Welders (RSW), Laser Spot Welders (LSW), automated assembly systems, Omron and Fanuc robots integrated with Allen-Bradley PLCs, and Keyence and Cognex vision systems. The role also supports qualification and troubleshooting of manufacturing tooling, fixtures, nests, and component holding devices used throughout production. By responding to downtime events, executing preventive and corrective maintenance, and partnering with Engineering and Operations teams, the technician helps reduce downtime and scrap, improve equipment uptime, and drive sustainable reliability improvements across the manufacturing operation.At Medtronic we bring bold ideas forward with seed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do.
