Job summary

Spectra in Boulder, CO is seeking a Manufacturing Technician III to assemble, manufacture, or refurbish products and sub-assemblies in line with documented procedures and quality standards. You will contribute to on-time delivery and meet production targets while advancing your skills in a growing team.

Responsibilities include reading work instructions in English, using hand tools, basic equipment setup, and assisting in NPI projects.

Job description

The Manufacturing Technician III is responsible for assembling, manufacturing, or refurbishing products, components, and sub-assemblies in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. This role completes assigned tasks with growing independence, ensuring finished goods are prepared accurately and on time for customer delivery, meeting both quality and production targets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assemble or manufacture components accurately and in accordance with documented assembly procedures.
• Deliver finished products or sub-assemblies consistently, meeting established quality and quantity goals.
• Use hand tools — including screwdrivers, socket wrenches, torque drivers, and hex wrenches — to assemble parts; may also work with adhesives, lubricants, or other materials as required.
• Perform fine motor skill tasks such as trimming materials, applying labels, and completing detailed assembly instructions.
• May be assigned to work with moving parts, power tools, and/or in confined or restricted spaces as operational needs require.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and disposition non-conforming parts or assemblies, escalating as appropriate.
• Assist in the setup, calibration, and basic maintenance of production equipment and tooling.
• Participate in NPI projects and third-party verification activities as directed.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and support cycle count activities.
• Utilize core systems including LN (SFO Operations/Orders Close, Serial Pick, Warehouse Orders), Lathe (Operation Close, Serial Pick), Red Tag, Bartender, SPOT EC Spreadsheet/SI, and JIRA Stock Requests to execute and track production work.

QUALIFICATIONS/PRIOR EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES

• Demonstrated dependability, punctuality, and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to read and understand written work instructions in English.
• Basic computer skills sufficient to access work procedures, time-keeping systems, and other work-related documents.
• Advancement within the role is commensurate with additional experience, expertise, and demonstrated proficiency across multiple product families and technical skill areas.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Location:

Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Boulder, CO office. Relocation assistance is not available. Only local candidates will be considered. This position requires 5 days a week in office.

Compensation:

$23.32 - 28.00/ hour. While this salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, a candidate’s actual salary will be competitive based on a variety of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
