Shift: 12hr (6pm-6am) 2-2-3 (2 on, 2 off, every other weekend) schedule

Position Summary

This position requires working in various Controlled/Non-Classified areas. The Packaging Technician performs manufacturing tasks such as operating equipment, monitoring in-process activities, line clearances, cosmetic inspections, cleaning, and completing batch record entries. The role also supports improvement activities like 5S, problem-solving, and Kaizen events to ensure product purity, quality, and consistency in accordance with cGMPs.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate assigned machinery, including servicing, monitoring, reintroducing materials, manual palletizing, and ensuring smooth product flow.
  2. Start-up machinery, set up equipment, select recipes, enter data into manufacturing systems (SCADA and HMI), make minor adjustments, and perform sensor challenges.
  3. Perform manual packaging tasks, including hand packaging and rework of in-process and finished materials.
  4. Operate light material handling equipment safely to move, store, or deliver materials.
  5. Conduct visual quality inspections and sampling; escalate concerns promptly.
  6. Perform minor troubleshooting, clear jams, identify equipment issues, and collaborate with technical resources.
  7. Control inventory and perform reconciliation activities, utilizing SAP and WES as needed.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and GMP standards through cleaning, housekeeping, and line clearance activities.
  9. Complete batch records and GMP documentation; perform necessary mathematical calculations.
  10. Follow safety procedures, report discrepancies, and support lean activities and process improvements.
  11. Act as a certified OJT trainer, conduct evaluations, and ensure team training qualifications.
  12. Review process documents for accuracy, suggest improvements, and support protocol execution for equipment qualification and validation.
  13. Support other work areas as needed, acquire and maintain certifications, and adapt to changing environments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or cGMP regulated environment.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and follow instructions in English.
  • Good attention to detail, record-keeping, and mathematical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications and SAP.
  • Prior production experience and LEAN manufacturing knowledge.
  • Understanding of cGMPs and FDA policies.
