Job summary

The Hillman Group in East York, PA is seeking a production operator to run forming presses, CNC machines, and finishing processes. You will perform equipment setup, monitor production throughput, and ensure traceability and quality across metal components.

You will inspect parts, address routine issues, and assist with certifications while maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or related experience.
• Knowledge of equipment used in chain and fittings manufacturing (presses, threading machines, CNC).
• Ability to perform equipment setup and adjustments based on product specifications.
• Skill in dimensional inspection of metal components using gauges and measurement tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine issues such as tooling wear, misalignment, or material inconsistencies.
• Knowledge of heat treatment, coating, or finishing processes impacting product durability.
• Ability to interpret basic product specifications and tolerances for load-bearing components.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining production targets and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure material traceability throughout the production process.
• Train and assist Level I technicians.
• Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Work Environment Packaging - Material Handler: Self-paced, 8 hr shifts. May be exposed to fumes, loud noises, and extreme temperatures infrequently. Functional near, far and peripheral vision and functional hearing required.
• Physical Demands Packaging - Material Handler: Heavy, lifting up to 85 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 280 lbs.
