Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II for the NSM business unit on the 2nd shift (1:30 pm–9:30 pm). You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support manufacturing engineers to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Observe and comply with safety rules, including QSR and ISO standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes to minimize downtime on automated lines.
  • Perform equipment setup and preventive, corrective, and calibration maintenance.
  • Support startups/shutdowns and stay late to ensure equipment state is safe.
  • Install/validate equipment to improve yield and cycle time per validation procedures.
  • Modify tooling/fixtures and evaluate ordering of necessary equipment.
  • Adhere to quality policies and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Participate in Value Improvement projects and cross-functional teams.

Shift

2nd Shift: 1:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Mandatory Weekend OT

Weekend overtime is required on a rotational basis. Current OT requirement is a minimum of one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Technician II, you are responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations in daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment to achieve production goals (safety, quality, delivery, and cost). Daily tasks include responding to equipment downtimes issues on the production floor, performing routine preventive maintenance on production equipment, and supporting Manufacturing Engineers (ME) in value improvement projects. Most of your time is spent on the production floor, working on equipment, and engaging with our Medical Device Specialists (MDS operators).

You will work on 2nd shift as part of a technician team in the Nitinol Shape Memory (NSM) business unit. NSM 2nd shift runs Monday-Friday from 1:30pm to 9:30pm.

Work Mode

Onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Observe and comply with all safety rules and regulations, including QSR and ISO Standards.
  • Apply mechanical, electrical, control, and pneumatic knowledge to troubleshoot and solve equipment and process problems for various automated equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
  • Perform equipment setup and corrective, preventive, and calibration maintenance as necessary.
  • Support equipment startups and shutdowns, which may include staying late to ensure equipment is in a safe state.
  • Install and validate equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
  • Modify existing and develop new tooling and fixtures.
  • Evaluate and order necessary equipment, tools, and fixtures.
  • Responsible for quality and adhering to manufacturing process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP). Proactively communicate quality issues and concerns.
  • Understand and apply a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and related principles.
  • Assist in Value Improvement (VIP) and implementing new equipment or processes or improving existing ones for cost savings.
  • Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.
  • Understand and apply flex strategy, rotate as necessary, and work well with all group members, both within the team and cross-functionally.
  • Actively participate in Shared Responsibility and continuous improvement teams.
  • Understand, follow, and promote all BSC and site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for attending and passing all core required BSC and site-specific training (i.e., QS Basics, RTK, Lean Training).
Required Qualifications
  • 2 Years with High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience, training, or apprenticeships.
Preferred Qualifications

Compensation

Minimum Salary: $43,368. Maximum Salary: $73,736. Compensation may include variable compensation such as overtime, shift differential, annual bonus target, and long-term incentives.
