About the role:

With general supervisory direction, responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations in daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals (i.e., quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and safety). Determine and assist Engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Work with Engineers to address equipment chronic issues and improvement. Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize downtime
  • Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
  • Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary.
  • Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
  • Evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. May develop or revise documents and procedures.
  • Modify existing and develop new tooling and fixtures
  • Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, tools and fixtures
  • Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment
  • Responsible for quality and adheres to manufacturing process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP). Proactively communicates quality issues and concerns.
  • Understands and applies a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and related principles.
  • Assist in Value Improvement (VIP) and implementing new equipment or processes or improving existing ones for cost savings
  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis for process characterization, Cpk, and scrap reduction goals.
  • Work with Process Development to bring new products into production
  • Work with departmental customers to improve material quality and delivery
  • Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians
  • Understands and applies flex strategy, rotates as necessary and works well with all group members, both within the team and cross-functionally.
  • Actively participates in Shared Responsibility and continuous improvement teams.
  • Understands, follows and promotes all BSC and site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations. This includes QSR and ISO Standards.
  • Responsible for attending and passing all core required BSC and site-specific training (i.e. QS Basics, RTK, Lean Training)
  • Mandatory Weekend OT is required on a rotation recurring basis. Current OT requirement is minimum once (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks.

Required qualifications:

  • 1 year of Experience with Associates Degree, or equivalent combination of education/work experience in related discipline

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Self-motivated to seek out opportunities to improve business performance
  • Communicates well with peers about issues/problems that arise
  • Previous Medical Device Experience
  • Previous experiences in working with Manufacturing Automation
