Job summary

Champion Foods LLC in Michigan is seeking a production operator responsible for set-up, starting, testing, and adjusting complex manufacturing equipment to maximize product quality and output. You will diagnose problems, perform basic repairs, and ensure compliance with state and federal safety standards.

This role may provide informal leadership to newer colleagues, supports GMP, HACCP, FDA/USDA safety requirements, and operates within established procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, USDA, FDA and other safety requirements.
• Experience in a production environment preferred; attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate clearly and explain technical manufacturing equipment.
• Strong organizational and planning skills to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start, and adjust equipment for quality and productivity; perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Assist less skilled production associates and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor production processes per GMP guidelines and HACCP standards.
• Inspect ingredients, products and packaging for quality and adherence to specs.
• Enter required data into the appropriate software system; assist with equipment shutdown for cleaning or repairs.
