Job summary

Nihon Kohden Orange Med is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to support medical device production. You will perform assembly tasks, document processes, and ensure compliance with GMP, GDP and regulatory standards in a fast-paced team environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–3 years of manufacturing assembly experience (medical device or regulated industry preferred). May involve standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs simple to moderately complex assembly functions using hand tools and fixtures.

• Maintains complete documentation of all assembly and test processes.
• Identifies and reports nonconforming materials or process deviations.
• Keeps a safe, clean work environment and adheres to company policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for performing a variety of assembly and production tasks in support of medical device manufacturing. This role ensures products are assembled in accordance with established procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

• Performs simple to moderately complex assembly functions utilizing mechanical skills, a variety of hand tools and assembly fixtures.
• Operates basic production equipment, tools, and fixtures safely and efficiently.
• Produces and inspects assemblies to ensure conformance to product specifications.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO).
• Ensures complete documentation of all assembly and test processes performed.
• Identify and report nonconforming materials, equipment issues, or process deviations to supervisor or engineering.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all established company. policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing assembly, or related field (medical device or regulated industry preferred).

Skills & Abilities

• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and small equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and able to perform repetitive tasks with consistence and accuracy.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational skills; maintain orderly work cells; contributes to the professional presentation of the production area.

Compensation

The anticipated range for this position is $22.00 to $26.00 at an hourly rate. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, experience and location.

Working Conditions

• The Manufacturing Technician I usually works in a manufacturing environment.
• The Manufacturing Technician I works a standard work week but may be required to work some weekends and evenings to fulfill the duties.

Physical requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle small components and tools with precision.
• Ability to lift and/or move materials up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Strong attention to visual detail.
• Must be able to type using the keyboard of a computer.
• Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly.
