Job summary

Leonardo DRS Bridgeton facility seeks a Manufacturing Technician I to perform electro-mechanical and cable harness assembly, disassembly and rework, with testing and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies. You will work from wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, and engineering specifications of varying complexity.

You will interpret SOPs, safety rules, and ensure compliance with applicable requirements while supporting engineers and maintaining production

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with ESD practices and chemical safety is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and engineering specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework, with some testing and repair.
• Work from complex wiring drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches.
• Provide routine technical support to engineers on components, devices and processes.
• Interpret and follow SOPs and safety rules; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate multiple activities to meet production deadlines and quality goals.
• Read and possibly develop wiring diagrams for system modifications.
• Support cross-functional teams to maintain efficient information flow.

Job Summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking multiple full time Manufacturing Technician Is for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position will be responsible for performing electro-mechanical and cable harness assembly, disassembly and rework. It will also involve some testing and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies. This role will be expected to work from wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches of varying complexity.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework. Some test and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies
• Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches and running sheets of significant complexity
• Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment
• Responsibilities may include testing, modifying, reworking, repairing, and building electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies.
• Work from standard wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches
• Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units
• Capable of performing related manufacturing processes
• Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification
• Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials
• Perform Key Performance Indicators:
• Meet production deadlines
• Quality of finished product (Pass/fail rates)
• Raw material stock levels
• Compliance outcomes
• Position requires the ability to coordinate several activities at the same time, and to reprioritize in response to changing operational conditions
• Ability to read, and possibly develop, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion, and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD (Electro Static Discharge) practices
• Must be experienced in the safe handling of chemicals
• Must have good hand and eye coordination
• Must demonstrate strong decision-making and leadership skills
• Ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift heavy materials
• Ability to access and work within restricted spaces in and around vehicles when necessary
• Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus
• Experienced in the use of various computer applications, including MS Office
• Experience with MRP a plus

The salary range for this position is $38,774.00/year- $48,468.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
