Job summary

TerrAscend Corp. seeks a Manufacturing Technician to join the on-site Waterfall, PA team, supporting processing and packaging in a cannabis production environment.

You’ll assist in maintaining packaging standards, coordinate daily department openings/closings with the manager, and contribute to efficient production schedules. Responsibilities include batch record accuracy, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in packaging and labeling.
  • Good math skills for unit conversions and measures.
  • Clear written and verbal English communication.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
  • Capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the daily production schedule to meet efficiency goals.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment and ensure readiness before shifts.
  • Clean and sanitize glassware and work surfaces.
  • Manufacture products following batch records with manual/semi- automated equipment.
  • Complete batch records and related documentation accurately.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues as they arise.
  • Support process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure a safe, compliant, and organized workspace.

Our next full-time Manufacturing Technician will be a key player in production and will assist in the execution of processing and packaging activities in a cannabis production environment. They will support the maintenance of various packaging and manufacturing standards as well as coordinate the opening of the operation and closing of the department daily with the department manager.

To Be Blunt

You will be challenged to work tactically toensure complete and on time execution of production schedules.

One minute you will be preparing for the day and ensuring area is ready to begin production.

The next minute you will be cross-training other packaging line operators.

And the next minute assisting with inventory counts of packaging and labeling components, finished products.

Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work within a diverse team in the organization.

  • Adhere to the daily production schedule to ensure attainment of efficiency goals.
  • Verify that all applicable working areas, tools, and processing equipment are maintained and in good working order prior to the start of each shift or batch.
  • Clean and sanitize glassware, transfer materials, storage vessels, tools and working surfaces.
  • Manufactures products in accordance processing batch records using manual and semi-automated equipment.
  • Maintains and calibrates equipment as needed.
  • Keep work area cleaned and well organized.
  • Inspect work area upon arrival and departure for proper safety and eGMP.
  • Accurately completes batch records and associated documentation.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and process problems.
  • Supports process development.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of TerrAscend processes.
  • Ensure the safety of themselves and other by maintaining a safe and orderly workspace.
  • Other duties in post-processing production, packaging, labeling and R & D as required.
  • 1-2 Years of Experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Assembly environment is a plus.
  • 1-2 Years in a Distribution Environment is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated to learn and improve.
  • Strong mathematical skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide various units of measure.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Etc…).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, constantly changing, team environment.
  • Effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting and/or walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from manuals, data sheets, or other documents.
  • Must be compliant with all company and state regulations and requirements.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.

Physical Requirements:
  • This position may require the ability to perform essential functions that include, but are not limited to: Pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time. Using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel, and pick objects (manual dexterity).
  • Working with chemicals (e.g., butane, propane, bleach) while following strict safety guidelines.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the facility or equipment using approved chemicals.
  • Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including clothing protection, close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear and eye protection.
