The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for supporting day-to-day quality activities within Operations to ensure products, materials, processes, and documentation meet established quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. This position partners closely with Operations, Quality Assurance (QA), Compliance, Warehouse, Product Development, and other cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve quality concerns, maintain accurate documentation, and support continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and maintain Batch Production Records (BPRs), ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Support first production run reviews for new products by completing required quality checks, documenting findings, and communicating results to Operations and leadership.
  • Inspect incoming materials against approved specifications and Certificates of Analysis (COAs), document results, and ensure appropriate quarantine, release, and disposition procedures are followed.
  • Verify product labels, testing results, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance; identify and escalation discrepancies for resolution.
  • Support the development, revision, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and monitor adherence to established quality procedures.
  • Assist with deviation investigations, root cause analysis, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and effectiveness checks, ensuring quality events are accurately documented and addressed within established timelines.
  • Perform sanitation verification and environmental monitoring activities, including ATP testing, and document and escalat findings requiring corrective action.
  • Support change control activities by completing assigned quality reviews and verifying implementation of approved changes.
  • Assist with employee training and qualification activities related to quality procedures and identify potential retraining or compliance needs.
  • Maintain accurate and organized quality records and documentation to support ongoing inspection and audit readiness.
  • Support internal, external, regulatory, and customer audits by providing requested documentation and assisting with quality-related activities as needed.
  • Monitor quality trends and communicate opportunities for process improvements that strengthen product quality, compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Operations, QA/Compliance, Warehouse, Product Development, and other departments to resolve quality issues and promote consistent application of quality standards.
  • Immediately communicate and elevate significant quality, compliance, documentation, or product concerns to appropriate leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and follow all applicable company safety, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Work flexible shifts as needed to support critical production tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, manufacturing, production, laboratory, or a related environment preferred.
  • Experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, CPG, or another highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GMP requirements, SOPs, Batch Production Records, quality documentation, and data integrity practices preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and communicate quality concerns, investigate discrepancies, and follow established procedures and specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments in a fast‑paced environment.
