Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment, including furnaces, casting, packaging and shop equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, adherence to company SOP's and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet production goals.

The Technician B is capable of running up to (2) production lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Operations:

• Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products according to company SOP's and production schedules.
• Perform set-up, shut-down, adjustments, and minor maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to maintain consistency in production.

Quality Control:

• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Identify and report any defects or deviations from standards, taking corrective action as necessary.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure longevity and prevent breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues, escalating complex problems to the team lead or manufacturing manager.

Health and Safety:

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents to the team lead and participate in safety training sessions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe working environment.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Accurately complete production logs, quality control reports, and other required documentation.
• Communicate production status, issues, and any required support to the team lead.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

• Work collaboratively with other technicians, team leads, and departments to achieve production targets.
• Participate in team meetings, providing input on process improvements and operational efficiency.

Continuous Improvement:

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting ideas to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies that could benefit the production process.

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Ability to work between 4 AM and 5 PM is typical.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient in operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to use production management software and other relevant applications.
