Job summary

Narda-MITEQ, a leading provider of microwave components, is seeking a Process Technician to support thin and dry film labs in substrate manufacturing. Under general supervision, you will perform routine tasks, operate equipment, prepare substrates, and ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced production environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to read engineering drawings and follow procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience, or 2 years post-secondary with 0–2 years related experience.
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to use microscope and measuring tools.
  • Familiar with laboratory control procedures, chemical safety and PPE.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of micro/macro photo fabrication of elements is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain thin & dry film equipment.
  • Prepare substrates for thin & dry film deposition by cleaning, etching, and surface prep.
  • Etched copper monitoring tolerances.
  • Resistor rod adjusting, trimming, testing and downstream prep.
  • Maintain a clean, organized lab and follow safety protocols.
  • Maintain inventory and order replacements as needed.
  • Assist in meeting daily production plans; communicate with team lead.
  • Inspect/pack thin and dry film components.
  • Electrical compliance testing of substrate components.

Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine, repetitive tasks in the Process Department (thin & thick film labs) to manufacture substrates and elements. The selected candidate must have the ability to perform the essential duties & responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but is not limited to the duties described below.

Essential Functions:
  • Operate and maintain thin & dry film equipment
  • Prepare substrates for thin & dry film deposition by cleaning, etching, and other surface preparation methods.
  • Etched copper monitoring tolerances.
  • Resistor rod adjusting/trimming/testing and preparation for downstream processing.
  • Ensure the laboratory is clean, organized, and well-maintained, following safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and materials, ordering replacements as necessary
  • Assists in meeting daily production requirement throughout process area. Communicate effectively with team lead to discuss production plans, results, and any issues encountered
  • Inspection/packing of thin and dry film components
  • Electrical compliance testing of manufactured substrate components
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Mechanically inclined including ability to use microscope and measuring tools such as calipers, multimeter.
  • Familiar with laboratory control procedures, chemical safety and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings, geometric dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Preferred knowledge of micro or macro photo fabrication of elements.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
