Job summary

Magna International, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a production operator to join a cross-functional team responsible for assembling and fabricating components for exterior systems.

You will operate semi-skilled production equipment, monitor quality, and support continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, basic math and communication skills, and ability to work safely in a team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills to manage, prioritize, and deal with many issues at one time.
• Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to operate within production and quality standards; including being able to operate/utilize all job related equipment. equipment may include fork-lift, hand tools, production machinery, et cetera.

Responsibilities

• Operate semi-skilled production equipment to assemble or fabricate a product or sub-assembly in accordance with team production goals.
• May perform work manually and/or by machine operation which requires in-depth knowledge of process and constant monitoring.
• Ensures product and process quality and efficiency through appropriate inspection and continuous improvement problem solving activities.
• M a k e s machine adjustments and typically manages several variables within the process.
• Maintains procedures and standards to provide compliance with quality standards for assigned area.
• Efficiently performs basic preventative maintenance and minor machine setups.
• Maintains material movement systems and completes proper paperwork and documentation to guide operations of the team.
• Train new employees as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
