ABEC Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Technician for our Wilson, NC facility. You will assemble and fabricate mechanical systems using precision tools in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

The role includes hands-on training and opportunities to work in traditional manufacturing and cleanroom settings. We seek a candidate with 1–2 years of relevant experience, strong attention to detail, and a drive to learn.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years hands-on mechanical or fabrication experience.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to wear PPE and cleanroom gear.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble equipment with precision and efficiency.
• Use hand tools, fabrication equipment, and measuring devices.
• Perform stainless steel fabrication including tube cutting, grinding, polishing, bending, and assembly.
• Install and maintain utility and service lines.
• Cross-train in a Cleanroom environment.
• Follow SOPs and guidelines; ensure work meets quality standards.
• Complete build documentation clearly and accurately.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
• Travel to support projects or training.

**This posting is for 2nd Shift openings located at ABEC's Wilson, NC facility. Hours are M-F 2:00pm - 10:30pm**

What You'll Do

• Fabricate and assemble equipment with precision, accuracy, and efficiency
• Work with a variety of hand tools, fabrication equipment, and measuring devices
• Perform stainless steel fabrication including:
  • Tube cutting
  • Grinding
  • Polishing
  • Bending
  • Assembly
• Install and maintain utility and service lines
• Cross train in a Cleanroom environment
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Guidelines (GDLs)
• Ensure all work meets quality standards - right the first time
• Complete build documentation clearly and accurately
• Work in cleanroom environments while adhering to strict procedures
• Operate overhead cranes and/or forklifts (as needed)
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
• Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Travel when required to support projects or training

What You Need to Bring

• 1-2 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical or fabrication work, or a cleanroom
• Comfortable using hand tools and basic fabrication equipment
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
• Basic understanding of blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform active work
• Willingness to wear required PPE and cleanroom gear
• Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Trade qualifications (Pipefitter, Plumber, Mechanic)
• Experience with stainless steel welding and polishing
• Cleanroom experience
• Experience working with quality documentation and audits
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean, or Six Sigma
