Job description

Overview

In this position, you will join our Manufacturing Operations Organization within the Aeronautics Systems sector as a Manufacturing Technician 1 at the Iuka, MS site. The role supports manufacturing of aerospace structural assemblies and requires a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints
• Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies, including precision drilling, countersinking, and use of calibrated tools
• Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
• Perform part‑fitting operations: filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
• Measure parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
• Modify assemblies to incorporate structural changes and verify quality using statistical process control or other control procedures
• Use manufacturing shop controls and systems daily
• Wear appropriate PPE while working on the shop floor
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness

Shift Schedule

Shift - Mon‑Thurs 7:00am–5:30pm
B‑Shift - Mon‑Thurs 5:30pm–4:00am
C‑Shift - Fri‑Sun 7:00am–7:30pm
D‑Shift - Fri‑Sun 7:00pm–7:30am (shift differentials paid on eligible shifts)

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of the Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) Aerospace Fabrication & Assembly program within a reasonable time period
• Physical ability to perform moderate strenuous work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period
• Completion of “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period
• Availability to work any shift depending on business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or active U.S. Government Secret level clearance
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing

Salary and Benefits

Primary level salary range: $35,500.00 – $59,100.00. Pay may vary based on position scope, responsibilities, and candidate experience. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability coverage, a savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation or personal matters.
