Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Iuka, MS, is seeking a Floor Support Manufacturing Engineer to join our manufacturing team on a 3/12 schedule, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. You will support high‑volume, high‑mix production and partner with Operations, Quality, and Design to minimize downtime and drive process improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or a Master’s in STEM) and the ability to obtain DoD clearance and PAR.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Clearance in order to apply and start.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to tackle production issues in hand and machine‑aided layup, automated fiber placement, autoclave cure, CNC and water jet machining, and nondestructive inspection
  • Develop processes by studying requirements; research, design, modify, and test production/deployment methods and equipment
  • Collaborates with Design Engineering on design to ensure practical manufacturing and fabrication solutions
  • Maintain and distribute daily shift issue logs, documenting both resolved and pending equipment/production issues for enhanced communication and transfers of information between shifts
  • Author, modify, and audit shop floor procedures and electronic work instructions (EWIs)
  • Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to permanently eliminate defects
  • Troubleshoot production/equipment/program/tooling issues and implement robust improvements and solutions

Northrop Grumman has an opening for a Floor Support Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Iuka, MS. This position will support our C shift on a 3/12 schedule Friday-Sunday, from 7:00am to 7:30pm.

The selected candidate will provide critical hands‑on support in a high‑volume high‑mix production environment, working closely with Operations, Quality, and Design engineering. Our goal is to minimize downtime on the production line by troubleshooting, problem solving, and proactively identifying areas of concern. Our engineers work to continuously improve their processes, eliminating process variation and waste while building in quality. Join us in the team effort to meet our production goals!

Responsibilities

This position may be filled as an Associate Manufacturing Engineer Level 1 or as a Manufacturing Engineer Level 2

Basic Qualifications
Associate Manufacturing Engineer Level 1
  • Bachelors Degree and 0 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Clearance in order to apply and start
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR)
Manufacturing Engineer Level 2
  • Bachelors Degree and 1 years of work experience in an engineering manufacturing environment role; OR Masters in STEM field with 0 years of experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience with knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance per company and business needs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per company and business needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Government Clearance
  • Active Special Program Access (PAR)
  • Engineering degree in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of composite hand layup, fiber placement, bonding, and/or curing
  • Knowledge of composite machining using CNCs and/or water jets
  • Experience with a CPLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system
  • Experience using NX or similar CAD software
  • Experience using SAP and MES or similar
  • Demonstrated understanding of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques
  • Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specifications

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,700.00 - $85,100.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $68,200.00 - $102,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
