Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Mississippi seeks a Manufacturing Technician 1 to support our Iuka site. This hands-on role involves reading blueprints, fabricating structural assemblies, and performing precision drilling and fitting operations on multiple shifts.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, with related fabrication training or experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED with 9 months of experience or completion of approved Aircraft Fabrication or Composites course.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance; Special Program Access.
  • Must complete ASTAR New Hire Training/Compliance in a defined time frame.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand blueprints and translate to fabrications.
  • Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
  • Perform drilling, riveting, reaming, filing, and fitting operations.
  • Use micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
  • Support continuous improvement in production methods and equipment.

We’re seeking a hands-on professional with exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality, and outstanding interpersonal skills.This position may be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights, and weekends (shift differential paid during eligible shifts).A shift - Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pmB Shift - Mon-Thurs 5:30pm-4amC Shift - Fri-Sun 7am-7:30pmD Shift - Fri-Sun 7pm-7:30amEssential Functions:Read and understand blueprintsTranslate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated toolsAligning parts on jigs using templates and fixturesPerforming part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reamingMeasures parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensionsMay modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedureDaily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systemsUse of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floorRecommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectivenessBasic Qualifications:High School diploma/GED & 9 months of experience OR completion of approved Aircraft Fabrication or Composites course (prior to starting)This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spacesMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance.Must successfully complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business needAbility to work any shift depending on business needsPreferred Qualifications:Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearanceExperience in aerospace manufacturingPrimary Level Salary Range: $35,500.00 - $59,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
