Manufacturing Technician II

Advantage Technical is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II for a direct-hire opportunity with a high-reliability manufacturing organization. This is a hands-on, mid-level technical role supporting complex electromechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, prototype builds, and manufacturing process improvements.
The ideal candidate has experience working with precision mechanical and electrical assemblies and is comfortable collaborating closely with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate-level mechanical and electrical assembly and testing of components and systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues, equipment faults, and assembly discrepancies.
- Support Engineering with prototype builds, validation activities, engineering evaluations, and production transitions.
- Work with RF rotary joints, slip rings, FORJs, and other precision electromechanical assemblies.
- Document test results, assembly activities, deviations, and manufacturing information according to established quality procedures.
- Interpret engineering drawings, mechanical schematics, assembly diagrams, and CAD models.
- Work closely with machinists, engineers, and quality inspectors to resolve build and test issues.
- Support root-cause investigations and escalating manufacturing issues when necessary.
- Assist with implementation of engineering changes and manufacturing process improvements.
- Help standardize work instructions, tooling, and manufacturing workflows.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting methods.
- Follow proper material-handling procedures for sensitive RF components and precision assemblies.
- Maintain compliance with applicable safety, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of hands-on manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, or technical production experience.
- Experience independently performing moderately complex assembly and test work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of precision tolerances and rotating assembly interfaces.
- Experience supporting prototype builds and engineering evaluations.
- Proficiency with hand tools, measurement instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and identify production or assembly issues.
- Ability to accurately document manufacturing steps, deviations, and test results within ERP/MRP and quality systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of assigned work.
- Ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Machining, and Quality teams.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Preferred Experience
- RF rotary joints, slip rings, FORJs, or RF/microwave assemblies.
- Precision machining and electromechanical manufacturing.
- ISO 9001 and AS9100 manufacturing environments.
- ITAR and CUI-controlled manufacturing requirements.
- ERP/MRP and electronic quality management systems.
- Continuous improvement and manufacturing process optimization.
