The Opportunity

Dechra is an international veterinary pharmaceuticals company specializing in the development, manufacture, and marketing of high-quality products for veterinarians worldwide. The Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and cleaning manufacturing equipment in complex production areas, including dispensing, charging, blending, compression, and packaging in solid production or dispensing, charging, mixing, and packaging in non-sterile liquid production. All products must be manufactured following established procedures in a clean, safe environment, complying with cGMP, FDA, DEA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.


Role Responsibilities

What will you be doing? This role involves a broad scope of duties, including:

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Perform setup, manufacturing, and cleaning of pharmaceutical products.
  • Operate equipment, perform changeovers, and maintain equipment, including the use of hand tools and machine parts adjustments.
  • Monitor and document production and equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, prepare supplies, and inspect materials.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations such as cGMP, FDA, DEA, OSHA.
  • Participate in manufacturing meetings and review documentation with Quality Assurance.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and reliability, communicate these standards clearly.
  • Suggest process improvements and assist with procedure updates.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and adhere to safety protocols, including PPE use.
  • Key Performance Indicators
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.
  • Accurate record-keeping in both hard-copy and electronic formats.
  • Attention to detail to meet safety, quality, and customer standards.
  • Adherence to cGMPs and ability to interpret complex instructions.
  • Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) for processes and equipment.
The Ideal Candidate

We value diversity and are eager to hear from candidates of all backgrounds. We are particularly interested in candidates who possess:

  • Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge and Experience: Experience in manufacturing, equipment setup, operation, cleaning, and basic maintenance; two years preferred but not required.
  • Strong documentation skills, familiarity with measurement devices, mechanical aptitude, and MS Office proficiency.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical or cGMP environments is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely.

Physical requirements include manual dexterity for packaging and the ability to work in static positions as per cycle needs.
