The J. M. Smucker Co. is seeking a team member to operate high-speed bakery equipment in a milk-bone production area. You will work afternoon/evening shifts, with weekly rotation, and contribute to safe, efficient output on multiple lines.
Candidates need 3+ years in manufacturing, strong teamwork, and basic PLC/computer skills. The role requires physical stamina, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adherence to GMPs and safety rules.
Starting pay is $23.40/hour (plus shift differential, if applicable). Year 2 = $26.74 Year 3 = $28.41 Year 4 = $33.43 First year: $70K+ with overtime. Wage progression over 3 years to a max of $33.43+/hr. With overtime up to $85K+ / year Excellent wages, benefits and product discounts.
Work in a variety of areas, operating high-speed manufacturing production equipment in processing and packaging to produce Milk-Bone product for the company.
Positions are afternoons and evenings and shifts can alternate weekly.
Assigned shift attendance and weekend work is required.
Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner.
Work in all areas of processing and packaging, as assigned, which includes operating, being in close proximity to and crossing platforms over machinery.
Cross-training will occur throughout the facility in all aspects of high-speed manufacturing.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Assist fellow employees as needed.

3+ years related manufacturing experience or equivalent technical/vocational experience preferred. Selected individuals must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly motivated and responsible, and work well within a team environment. Use of computers and PLCs in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
High-school degree or equivalent is required.
Associate degree preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's and general instructions. Good communication skills are required.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and lift.
The employee is required to stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time.
The employee must be able to work 8-hour shifts with a maximum of 16 hours required.
The employees must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds.
The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on a frequent basis.
The employee must be able to work in a cold and hot environment.
The employee must be able to tolerate exposure to flour and yeast materials.
The employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis.

This position is located in a bakery which is a high temperature environment, especially in the summer months. This position requires you to spend the majority of your shift on your feet and walking. This position is in a loud noise environment and requires the use of hearing protection and other personal protective equipment.
