Job summary

General Mills is seeking a Manufacturing Technician at its Albuquerque, NM plant. The role involves troubleshooting machinery, calibrating processing and packaging systems, and supporting startup, changeover and shutdown activities to keep lines running smoothly.

You'll work 12.5-hour rotating shifts on a 3-2-2 schedule, with overtime, weekends and holidays possible. The position offers paid holidays, vacation, 401(k) matching and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts.
• Must possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate in English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions.
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights using stairs, ladders, lifts, or platforms.
• Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards.
• Ability to wear PPE such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and masks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot problems with machinery and partner with maintenance staff.
• Calibrate processing and packaging systems daily to meet specs.
• Participate in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Support production tasks such as bagging, stacking, counting, paper feeding, oiling, and related line operations.
• Assist other plant areas as assigned.

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information

• 12.5-hour shifts with 3-2-2 schedule

  • 5:30 am to 6:00 pm (day shift)
  • 5:30 pm to 6:00 am (night shift)

• Shift rotation every 6 months (day to night or night to days)

• On-off pattern is 3 days on shift followed by 2 days off shift, 2 days on shift

  • Cycle length is 2 weeks

• You only work 15 to 16 days a month!

• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed

• Plantoperates24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As part of our manufacturing team, you will:

• Troubleshoot problems with machinery and partner with maintenance staff to resolve issues

• Calibrate processing and packaging systems daily to meet required specifications

• Participate in startup, changeover, and shut down of operating equipment

• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance

• Assist in training new employees

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts
• Mustpossessthe ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplaceregardingwork matters (our business isgenerally conductedin English)
• Ability tolift upto 50lbs

• Manufacturing or production experience
• Mechanical and/or electrical capability/experience
