Job summary

General Mills Albuquerque plant is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our production team. The role operates on 12.5-hour rotating shifts (day and night) within a 3-2-2 schedule and requires willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

The starting pay is $24.95 per hour with comprehensive benefits including vacation, holidays, 401(k) matching and health coverage. Candidates must attend all process dates and demonstrate strong safety and teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot, cold or dusty conditions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot machinery problems and coordinate with maintenance to resolve issues.
• Calibrate processing and packaging systems to meet specs.
• Participate in startup, changeover and shutdown of equipment.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve performance.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Support packaging tasks such as bagging, counting and line operations.

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information

• 12.5-hour shifts with 3-2-2 schedule
• 5:30 am to 6:00 pm (day shift)
• 5:30 pm to 6:00 am (night shift)
• Shift rotation every 6 months (day to night or night to days)
• On-off pattern is 3 days on shift followed by 2 days off shift, 2 days on shift Cycle length is 2 weeks
• You only work 15 to 16 days a month!
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed
• Plant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Key Accountabilities

• As part of our manufacturing team, you will:
• Troubleshoot problems with machinery and partner with maintenance staff to resolve issues
• Calibrate processing and packaging systems daily to meet required specifications
• Participate in startup, changeover, and shut down of operating equipment
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
• Assist in training new employees
• Support production tasks such as bagging, stacking, counting, paper feeding, oiling, and related line operations
• Assist other plant areas as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts
• Must possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods
• Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards
• Ability to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)
• Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergens

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing or production experience
• Mechanical and/or electrical capability/experience
