Job summary

Tosoh Quartz, Inc. in Portland, OR is seeking an Engineering Technician I to collaborate with engineering and operators on world-class quartz machining processes.

You will help implement new products, refine current ones, and ensure people, processes, and materials deliver top quality and output. This role operates 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with a focus on continuous improvement, documentation, and tool development, while interacting with engineers and vendors to meet project

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and dimensions.
• Experience in a CNC machining environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Partner with production team members to promote continuous improvement and learning mindset.
• Review processes and develop training and point of use documentation, assist in the training of production team members to ensure documents are effective and accessible.
• Troubleshoot process quality, safety and output issues and develop operator focused solutions.
• Work with engineers to eliminate quality and production problems.
• Design and build production tools and equipment.
• Identify waste in processes and work relentlessly to eliminate it.
• Facilitate the disposition of non-conforming material.
• Provide support for process and systems improvement projects.
• Interact with outside vendors and Tosoh resources in other departments to meet project and process deliverables.
• Develop structure, systems and processes for the tool crib.
