Job summary

Tosoh Quartz in Portland, OR is seeking a Machine Operator II to manufacture quartz components using saws, drills, lapping and polishing machines. You will set up equipment, produce parts to drawings, and inspect finished items against specifications.

The role requires attention to detail, reading and following work instructions, and maintaining equipment. You will perform basic maintenance and keep a clean, safe workstation while supporting continuous production quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience operating specialty production equipment.
• Experience reading and following detailed work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail; ability to see small details, finish variations, and defects.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measurement equipment like calipers and micrometers.
• Knowledge of Machine Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment including saws, core drills, lapping and polishing machines, and grinders.
• Produce and detail quartz glass parts to conform to specifications.
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
• Verify conformance to specification with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gages, comparators).
• Perform detail work such as waxing, dewaxing, chamfering, or cleaning.
• Maintain equipment and perform daily/monthly maintenance as directed.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.
• Monitor and adjust production processes for quality and productivity.
