Job summary

Forms+Surfaces is seeking a Team Lead to coordinate daily work in a manufacturing department, support productivity goals, and perform core manufacturing duties.

You will train and mentor staff, manage workloads, promote quality, and maintain records while ensuring safety standards. The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and ability to read technical drawings. This is an hourly, non‑exempt position in Phoenix.

Qualifications

• Ability to support, train, and motivate team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify production challenges, develop practical solutions, and recommend timely solutions to support safety, quality, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering prints.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Organized with strong planning, time‑management, and prioritization skills to effectively coordinate multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
• Must be available at short notice to stay later than an 8‑hour shift and work a Saturday or Sunday on short notice.
• This is an hourly, non‑exempt working lead position.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor employees, including orientation, safety and on‑the‑job training.
• Coordinate vacation coverage and workload distribution to meet schedules.
• Promote quality standards and elevate concerns to management.
• Maintain production records and communicate shift performance to leadership.
• Communicate effectively with team members, managers and other leads to resolve issues.
• Review released work orders for changes and suggest modifications to routing and processes.
• Support the safety program including hazard identification and daily inspections.
• Contribute to new product reviews and implementation of process improvements.
• Communicate company updates and information to the team.
