Job summary

Welch's is seeking a Production Supervisor in Lawton, Michigan to lead a hands-on manufacturing team focused on safety, quality, and productivity. You will own the daily schedule, coach staff, and resolve issues in real time while maintaining Welch’s high standards for sanitation and food safety.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork across Maintenance, Quality, and Production, and ongoing development of employees in a 24/7 facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing preferred.
• Previous experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve daily safety, quality, service, and productivity goals.
• Own day-to-day execution of the production schedule and address issues impacting performance.
• Monitor lines, equipment, and processes to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Track production results and downtime to improve line performance and reduce losses.
• Partner with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize disruptions.
• Maintain sanitation, housekeeping, and food safety standards.
• Lead safety expectations within the area and address risks.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and other plant teams to keep production running smoothly.
• Train and develop employees with clear expectations and timely feedback.
• Lead team meetings focused on safety, training, performance, and problem-solving.
• Ensure supplies and ingredients are available for schedules.
• Oversee packaging rework and maintain quality requirements.
• Support employee relations and contract requirements.
• Evaluate probationary and temporary employees and provide feedback on performance and development.
