Job summary

ASML in San Diego seeks an experienced manufacturing supervisor to lead a team of technicians and assemblers, overseeing 15-20 direct reports, and coordinating with adjacent teams. You will model safety, quality and operational excellence while developing people and guiding performance.

The role requires a Master degree or equivalent and several years in manufacturing leadership, with strong planning and a drive to improve processes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Cascade targets, appraise and develop employees through coaching and task assignments.
  • Direct and drive realization of planned results and KPIs for the team.

Introduction to the Job

Responsible for delivering operational results by managing their own natural team (own team plus required support roles), internal customers and suppliers.

Responsible for people development & performance. Responsible for natural team development. Acts in line with the ASML leadership profile (role model, coach, people leader, business leader). Mentors junior colleagues.

Drives ownership of Safety, Quality and Operational Excellence in manufacturing. Initiates and realizes improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities

Independently supervises work of app. 15-20 direct reports (mainly Technicians and Assemblers). Typically start 2:00PM

Responsible for own work center or shift. Coordinates activities that require at least advanced vocational or starting Bachelor working and thinking level.

Understands interfaces and dependencies with other teams and coordinates with other teams within Operations (stakeholders around the own natural team).

Health, Safety & Environment

Check compliance to procedures and guidelines regarding quality, safety and health across areas and teams, not limited to own area / team, register performed checks and submit (defect) reports where necessary and/or take action in order to comply. Encourages safety mindset and acts as role model to others in regard to health and safety and holds others accountable. Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks, and to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.

Responsible for Health & Safety for own work center. Ensures that learnings are proactively shared within the department and followed-up.

People management and development

Cascades targets, appraises and develops (the cooperation between) employees. Develops direct reports by coaching them, assigning new tasks, guides on skills and knowledge development.

Can be responsible for natural team development. Ensures retention and development of critical knowledge and capabilities within functional area.

Realization

Direct and drive the realization of planned results and operational KPIs for the own team, able to leverage understanding of the department, to optimize factory operations beyond own and natural team.

Contribute or deliver input to the planning of the work in the factory operations.

Continuous Improvement

Review existing operations (L5 level) in own area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered.

Foster a CI culture within the own team.

Leads improvement initiatives for own team.

Management information

Provide reports and analyses on operational and team performance towards tiers and management structures.

Stakeholder Management

Builds and maintains a network of in- and external stakeholders/partners (typically own team, and other TL's and GL's) and represents the organization.

Explains and convinces internal and external parties regarding operational choices and solutions based on content-driven arguments. Reflects on achieved results and/or issues related to these choices and generates relevant business insights.

Annual plan / budget

Cascade operational targets into year plans. Drive realization of year plan within timing and budget constraints. Manage and acquire approval for planned deviations.

Strategy and policy

Develop policies and objectives for the assigned unit and contribute to policies on the next organization level.

Coordinates and ensures execution of plan, time horizon is typically several months.

Education and Experience

Master degree with solid experience or equivalent working and thinking level.

Experience in a manufacturing environment a must, with at least 3+ years of supervisory/leadership (or minimum 5 years manufacturing)

Thorough experience of planning and managing operational activities to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers.

The current base annual hourly range for this role is currently:
$39-53

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
