Manufacturing Systems Integration Engineer
Location: Onsite in Green Bay, WI or Menasha, WI
Travel: Up to 25% domestic travel
Our client is expanding a high impact advanced manufacturing team focused on modernizing plant operations across a multi-site production network. This role connects machines, controls, data, and plant systems to improve visibility, reliability, and performance across automation, OT infrastructure, smart manufacturing, and cross-functional project execution.
Responsibilities
- Support the integration of operational technologies and business systems to enhance data accessibility, process efficiency, and informed decision-making.
- Build and support OT architectures that enable reliable equipment connectivity, production data flow, and scalable system integration.
- Lead commissioning activities, startup support, FAT, SAT, and issue resolution for new automation deployments.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and external integrators to define requirements, evaluate risks, and deliver sustainable solutions.
- Use protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus to connect equipment and manufacturing systems.
- Create dashboards, data collection tools, and reporting solutions that turn production information into actionable insights.
- Contribute to digital manufacturing initiatives tied to predictive maintenance, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with the implementation and coordination of industrial technologies, supporting connectivity, system performance, and operational efficiency across manufacturing environments.
- Help standardize technical approaches, improve maintainability, and strengthen long-term system performance across sites.
- Communicate project progress, technical risks, and implementation needs clearly to internal stakeholders and plant teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Five or more years of experience in manufacturing systems, automation, SCADA, OT, controls integration, or industrial networking.
- Background in packaging, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, material handling, automotive, aerospace, or another fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with industrial communications, plant system integration, and manufacturing data flow.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Ignition, MES environments, data historians, SQL-based tools, or related visualization and reporting systems.
- Familiarity with industrial automation technologies and the ability to support connected production and operational systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, systems thinking, and the ability to move between concept development and plant execution.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with plant operations, project teams, vendors, and technical partners.
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a desire to continuously expand technical knowledge across various systems and environments.
- Preferred experience with smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0 initiatives, or IT/OT convergence.
