Job summary

First Solar is seeking an Engineer- Manufacturing Systems II on the 1st shift to drive new and existing systems across manufacturing stages, ensuring safety, quality, and cost improvements. The role collaborates with shift managers and supporting departments to standardize processes and implement ISO 9000 compliant systems at the Perrysburg site.

Candidates should bring leadership, communications, and project management skills, with 3+ years in manufacturing and advanced degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• At least 2 years of First Solar manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Engineering or Physical Science or equivalent.
• Leadership, communication, and project management skills required.
• ISO 9000 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Introduce and enhance manufacturing systems across shifts.
• Ensure standardization across all plants and extended operations.
• Drive continuous improvement projects in operation excellence.
• Ensure ISO 9000 compliance for Perrysburg site.
• Collaborate with shift managers and supporting departments to improve systems.
• Record and analyze data on manufacturing systems for improvements.
• Travel up to 10% and participate in training at other locations.
