Gables Search Group partners with a leading architectural wood door manufacturer to hire a Manufacturing Engineer. This hands-on role reports to the Automation Engineering Manager and focuses on process improvement and team collaboration.

You will tackle floor-level manufacturing problems, develop practical solutions, and drive improvements with Production, CI, Maintenance, and Engineering. The company prioritizes safety, growth, and work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate and sustain manufacturing processes and improvements.
• Drive metrics with Production Teams to improve safety, quality, productivity and delivery.
• Act as escalation resource for process issues requiring deeper analysis.

What You Will Be Doing

• Be responsible for solving hands‑on manufacturing problems to help improve the day‑to‑day performance of manufacturing operations while working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• Strong process improvement skills that help meet KPIs
• Develop practical solutions, and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained. This will involve challenging existing methods, influencing change, and drive teams from problem identification through execution and follow‑up.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day‑to‑day process issues.
• Serve as an escalation resource for manufacturing problems requiring deeper process analysis and technical problem solving after initial Production or Maintenance response.
• Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing processes.
• Improve Processes and Eliminate Waste in Key Constraint Areas
• Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery in assigned areas
• Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams

What They Are Looking For

• Associate degree Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required
• 3+ years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineering in an assembly operation, preferably wood products.
• Must be a self‑starter who can work independently and, on a team
• Prior project management experience, start to finish, is highly desirable
• Prior capital project experience is also helpful
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff
