Job summary

Markent Personnel seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for a state‑of‑the‑art wood door production facility in Manitowoc, WI. This hands‑on role partners with Production, CI, Maintenance, and Engineering to drive practical process improvements and KPI gains on the shop floor.

You will develop and sustain improvements, challenge existing methods, and lead teams from problem discovery through execution and follow‑up, while ensuring safety and quality remain priorities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required.
• 3+ years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in an assembly operation, preferably wood products.
• Self-starter able to work independently and on a team.
• Prior project management experience is highly desirable.
• Prior capital project experience is also helpful.
• Excellent communication skills with all staff levels.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day performance.
• Develop practical solutions and ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor with operators and supervisors.
• Serve as escalation resource for deeper process analysis and problem solving.
• Coordinate planning, design, and validation of manufacturing processes and improvements.
• Improve processes and eliminate waste in key constraint areas and boost safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.

What you will be doing:

• Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to help improve the day-to-day performance of manufacturing operations while working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• Strong process improvement skills that help meet KPIs
• Develop practical solutions, and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained. This will involve challenging existing methods, influencing change, and drive teams from problem identification through execution and follow-up.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day-to-day process issues.
• Serve as an escalation resource for manufacturing problems requiring deeper process analysis and technical problem solving after initial Production or Maintenance response.
• Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing processes.
• Improve Processes and Eliminate Waste in Key Constraint Areas
• Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery in assigned areas
• Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams
