Job summary

Henderson Group Recruiting is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a state-of-the-art wood doors production facility. This hands-on role reports to the Automation Engineering Manager and collaborates with Production, CI, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve day-to-day performance.

You will focus on process improvement to meet KPIs, develop practical solutions, and sustain gains on the manufacturing floor, working with operators and leadership to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required.
• 3+ years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in an assembly operation, preferably wood products.
• Must be a self-starter who can work independently and, on a team.
• Prior project management experience is highly desirable
• Prior capital project experience is also helpful
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff

Responsibilities

• Solve hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day performance with Production, CI, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• Drive process improvements to meet KPIs.
• Develop practical solutions and ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work with operators and leadership to resolve issues.
• Serve as escalation resource for complex process problems.
• Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements.
• Improve processes and eliminate waste in key constraint areas.
• Improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery in assigned areas.
• Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams.

**What you will be doing:**

• * Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to help improve the day-to-day performance of manufacturing operations while working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• * Strong process improvement skills that help meet KPIs
• * Develop practical solutions, and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained. This will involve challenging existing methods, influencing change, and drive teams from problem identification through execution and follow-up.
• * Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day-to-day process issues.
• * Serve as an escalation resource for manufacturing problems requiring deeper process analysis and technical problem solving after initial Production or Maintenance response.
• * Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing processes.
• * Improve Processes and Eliminate Waste in Key Constraint Areas
• * Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery in assigned areas
• * Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams
