Job summary

Genesis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its state-of-the-art production facility in Manitowoc, WI. This hands-on role reports to the Automation Engineering Manager and focuses on solving day-to-day manufacturing problems, collaborating with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve performance.

You will develop practical process improvements, validate changes, and drive safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering required.
• 3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an assembly operation (wood products preferred).
• Self-starter who can work independently and on a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day operations.
• Drive process improvements to meet KPIs.
• Develop practical solutions and ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
• Maintain strong floor presence and collaborate with operators, supervisors, and leadership.
• Serve as escalation resource for complex process analysis and technical problems.
• Coordinate planning, design, development, and validation of manufacturing processes.
• Improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery in assigned areas.
• Develop and drive metrics with Production Teams.

**What you will be doing:**

• * Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to help improve the day-to-day performance of manufacturing operations while working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• * Strong process improvement skills that help meet KPIs
• * Develop practical solutions, and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained. This will involve challenging existing methods, influencing change, and drive teams from problem identification through execution and follow-up.
• * Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day-to-day process issues.
• * Serve as an escalation resource for manufacturing problems requiring deeper process analysis and technical problem solving after initial Production or Maintenance response.
• * Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing processes.
• * Improve Processes and Eliminate Waste in Key Constraint Areas
• * Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery in assigned areas
• * Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams

**What they are looking for:**

• * Associate degree Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required
• * 3+ years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineering in an assembly operation, preferably wood products.
• * Must be a self-starter who can work independently and, on a team
• * Prior project management experience, start to finish, is highly desirable
• * Prior capital project experience is also helpful
• * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff
