Job summary

Network Recruiting is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a state-of-the-art architectural wood doors plant in Wisconsin. This hands-on role requires flexibility and teamwork, reporting to the Automation Engineering Manager to drive process improvement on the manufacturing floor.

You will collaborate with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance and Engineering to solve day-to-day issues, lead capital projects, and sustain improvements with strong communication and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Solve hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day performance with Production, CI, Maintenance and Engineering.
• Drive process improvements to meet KPIs and ensure sustained improvements.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and resolve day-to-day process issues with operators and leaders.
• Escalate complex manufacturing problems requiring deep process analysis.
• Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes.
• Improve processes and eliminate waste in key constraint areas.
• Improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery in assigned areas.
• Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams.

**What you will be doing:**

• * Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to help improve the day-to-day performance of manufacturing operations while working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• * Strong process improvement skills that help meet KPIs
• * Develop practical solutions, and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained. This will involve challenging existing methods, influencing change, and drive teams from problem identification through execution and follow-up.
• * Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day-to-day process issues.
• * Serve as an escalation resource for manufacturing problems requiring deeper process analysis and technical problem solving after initial Production or Maintenance response.
• * Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing processes.
• * Improve Processes and Eliminate Waste in Key Constraint Areas
• * Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery in assigned areas
• * Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams

**What they are looking for:**

• * Associate degree Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required
• * 3+ years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineering in an assembly operation, preferably wood products.
• * Must be a self-starter who can work independently and, on a team
• * Prior project management experience, start to finish, is highly desirable
• * Prior capital project experience is also helpful
• * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff
