Overview

Waters Machining Operations is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to join our organization. In this role, the individual will join our team here in our Milford MA Headquarters. Specifically, the role is responsible for direct management of a team in our fast-paced, innovative manufacturing environment. Fields in our manufacturing space include CNC Machining, grinding, micro-level processing, fabrication and assembly, EDM machining, complex tube fabrication, Laser welding, and Chemical processing.

The candidate will have an opportunity to work directly with a collaborative peer group of Management and Engineering professionals who are dedicated to continually improving our processes and products, developing their teams, and creating a workplace that is both safe and engaging.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains day-to-day responsibilities of work scheduling, quality, and collaborating with other team members to drive/lead plans and actions to assure daily production targets and KPI’s are achieved.
  • Accept accountability for the safety of team members and lead safety awareness activities and training to improve upon current safety-focused culture.
  • Oversight and support of all department personnel: approx. 20 employees on a first shift operation as well as set the direction for off shift activities to be carried by the team.
  • Training and technical development of employees including performance evaluations, frequent feedback and setting goals and objectives.
  • Identifies and directs implementation of improvement opportunities by securing relevant information, asking effective questions, and developing solutions.
  • Resolves problems relating to materials, operations, quality or other factors that may result in production delays.
  • Interacts with applicable engineering staff on piece part design, process development, and improvement.
  • Interacts with the various planning teams in developing efficient planning and production execution systems through a regular consensus review.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in a technical/operations related subject area preferred but will acknowledge experience in manufacturing/production environment in lieu of formal educational background.
  • Minimum five years experience as a supervisor/manager in a fast-paced machining/manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold departmental team accountable for achieving targets and adhering to company policies, procedures and other identified subject areas.
  • Previous Lean Manufacturing experience and demonstrated ability in transforming a production environment to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an organization toward their objectives, KPI's and deliveries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or work within multi-functional teams in a collaborative manner.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Information Systems. SAP preferred.
