Job summary

Lightera in Norcross, GA is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing activities, ensure on-time delivery, quality, and a safe work environment. You will supervise manufacturing personnel across the production function.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing management, 3+ years in leadership, and 5+ years in manufacturing, with Six Sigma/Lean certification a plus. Experience with SAP and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing management (MBA a plus).
• 3+ years in manufacturing leadership; 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Six-sigma Green/Black Belt Certification and Lean Certification a plus.
• Knowledge of Fiber Optic Industry desirable.
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and problem resolution skills.
• SAP Experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word and Power Point; ability to use data for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Schedule personnel to maximize daily labor costs in line with production schedules.
• Oversee overtime, PTO, and training planning.
• Ensure all machines operate efficiently within guidelines.
• Meet KPIs: scrap/remake, safety, FPY, OEE, and OTD.
• Complete TPM, 6S audits, and standard work on time.
• Maintain rigor, fairness, and adherence to policies.
• Coordinate with other supervisors, Planning, Procurement, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality to meet production demands.
• Conduct root cause analyses using 8-Step and 5-Whys methodologies.
• Prepare safety reports and notify management of accidents; address issues promptly.
• Develop Leads/Operators for growth; occasional weekend coverage may be required.
