Job summary

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team of hourly production employees within our de-icing and composites operations. You will oversee daily performance for assigned manufacturing cells, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost goals are met.

This role is for 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:00 PM) with overtime, training on 1st shift, and relocation assistance provided. Candidates with union experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working with union employees.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cell level manufacturing performance, including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Ensure the practices and procedures are followed by direct reports.
  • Achieve target performance levels through disciplined execution of the daily CORE Visual Management Systems Lead Standard Work.
  • Demonstrate accountability to daily results and root-cause analysis.
  • Drive development of a strong problem-solving culture with coaching behaviours.
  • Champion safety, quality improvement, and CORE programs within the manufacturing cell(s).
  • Coordinate activities for materials and logistics to ensure availability and smooth operations.
  • Partner with planning to develop a schedule meeting cell production requirements.
  • Provide leadership coaching for team leads.
  • Develop and execute a training plan aligned with manufacturing needs.
  • Ensure timely execution of manufacturing transactions in SAP.

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team of hourly production employees within our de–icing and composites operations. In this role, you will oversee daily performance for assigned manufacturing cells, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met. You\'ll guide problem solving, drive CORE practices, develop team leads and operators, and maintain efficient, well-coordinated workflows that keep our operations running smoothly in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment. This position is for 2nd shift, typically 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, with frequent overtime extending to approximately 1:00 AM. New hires will complete training on 1st shift for approximately weeks before transitioning to standard 2nd-shift hours. This role is eligible for relocation assistance.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for cell level manufacturing performance, including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Ensure the practices and procedures are followed by direct reports.
  • Achieve target performance levels through disciplined execution of the daily CORE Visual Management Systems Lead Standard Work.
  • Demonstrate clear focus on accountability to daily results, rapid identification of root cause and effective implementation of corrective actions.
  • Drive development of a strong problem-solving culture, through application of practical problem-solving tools and coaching behaviors.
  • Champion safety, quality improvement, and CORE programs within the manufacturing cell(s).
  • Coordinate activities for materials and logistics problem resolution of a cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
  • Partner with planning to develop a schedule that meets cell production requirements utilizing On Time To Start and On Time To Finish to meet customer OTD.
  • Provide leadership coaching and development for team leads.
  • Develop and execute a clear training plan in alignment with the needs of the manufacturing cell and business.
  • Ensure timely execution of manufacturing transactions, including time approval, in SAP ERP system to ensure data accuracy.
  • Work with other areas to continuously improve data integrity.
Qualifications
  • You Must Have Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Qualifications We Prefer Prior Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Usage of Microsoft, Excel, Power Point, SAP.
  • Experience in Aerospace industry.
  • Experience working with union employees.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement efforts.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
