Manufacturing Technical Operations Supervisor

Pay: $30.00–$35.00 per hour

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Manufacturing operation with day/night shifts; flexibility to support production operations as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technical Operations Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position is ideal for a manufacturing professional who combines strong technical troubleshooting abilities with proven supervisory experience. The successful candidate will oversee production operations, coach and develop employees, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and help improve safety, quality, reliability, and overall production performance.

Candidates with experience in paper converting, flexible packaging, printing, food manufacturing, or other high-volume manufacturing environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide hands-on leadership to manufacturing and production employees.
  • Monitor daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and production goals are achieved.
  • Provide technical support and assist with troubleshooting production equipment and operational issues.
  • Coach, train, and develop machine operators and other manufacturing employees.
  • Identify production problems, determine root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support equipment setup, changeovers, adjustments, and process improvements.
  • Partner with maintenance, quality, and production teams to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Support compliance with GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and other manufacturing quality requirements.
  • Help develop standardized operating procedures and improve operator technical capabilities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation and communicate operational issues to management.
  • Promote a safe, organized, accountable, and team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of manufacturing or technical operations experience.
  • 2–5+ years of supervisory, team lead, or manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical and technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience working directly with manufacturing/production equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, training, and developing production employees.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work onsite and support the operational needs of a manufacturing facility.
Highly Preferred Experience

Candidates with one or more of the following will receive strong consideration:

  • Paper, packaging, printing, or converting manufacturing.
  • Converting equipment such as slitters, sheeters, winders, cutters, or similar machinery.
  • GMP and/or HACCP environments.
  • Food or food-packaging manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma.
  • Root-cause analysis and process improvement.
  • Training machine operators or leading workforce-development initiatives.
  • Manufacturing project management.
What Is Converting?

Converting is the manufacturing process of transforming raw materials such as paper, plastic, film, foil, or fabric into finished or semi-finished products through processes such as cutting, slitting, shaping, folding, laminating, coating, winding, or stamping.

Candidates who have worked with similar high-speed production equipment are encouraged to apply even if their previous employer used different machine brands.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment screening. Slip-resistant footwear is required within the manufacturing environment.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but are not required.
